ISLAMABAD : Free and compulsory education has not been a priority of any government in 77 years. The private education sector has taken the lead in achieving quantitative targets as well as qualitative targets, said Founder and Central President Private Schools Network Dr. Muhammad Afzal Babar while addressing an educational seminar organized by Prime Educational Services. He said that what could be a bigger national tragedy than this? Article 25-A of the Constitution of Pakistan has made it the responsibility of the government to provide free and compulsory education to every child from 5 to 16 years, but 35 million children are still out of school. 300,000 private educational institutions are providing quality education to 35 million children with their own help, saving the state billions of rupees. If we compare with the nations of the world fairly, beyond statistics, we are lagging behind in the field of education. To equip the new generation with the jewels of education according to the dream of the founders of Pakistan is the biggest jihad of this era. Chief Executive PES Shoaib Butt, Niyazullah, Dr. Anila Junaid and others also addressed the seminar.
