Lahore:An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, in which RPOs, CPOs, DPOs, and other senior officers participated via video link. IG Punjab reviewed the security arrangements of police stations across the province, including those for Chinese nationals, foreign citizens, and sensitive locations. IG Punjab issued directives to enhance security across the province, especially in light of increasing attacks by khawarji terrorists and miscreant elements on civilians and security personnel. He emphasized the use of all resources to secure Chinese and foreign nationals, experts, development projects, residences, and routes. IG Punjab also directed that security arrangements at police check posts in border areas be further tightened. He stressed the importance of ensuring the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the security of police stations and sensitive offices. Additionally, he instructed that night patrolling around police stations, attendance of personnel, and the checking of CCTV cameras must be ensured. During raids against miscreants and criminals, bulletproof Jackets and safety measures should be used. Target hardening should be implemented to safeguard against potential attacks from terrorists, miscreants, and criminal elements. SOPs for security should also be followed when presenting detainees in courts. IG Punjab ordered preventive measures to be taken in cases involving old enmities to save precious human lives. In foggy weather conditions, effective patrolling and search-and-sweep operations should be carried out to prevent criminal activities. IG Punjab also directed DPOs to personally review the security arrangements at police stations, sensitive offices, CPEC working sites and other key locations. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Operations Punjab Shahzada Sultan, DIG Operations Punjab Waqas Nazir and DIG Operations Lahore.
