Lahore:IG Punjab Complaint Center 1787 is continuing its efforts to address the issues of complainants. Spokesperson for Punjab Police shared that more than 3500 complaints received at the 1787 Complaint Center in the first 20 days of this year have been resolved. Over 1600 complaints related to registration of cases and more than 810 complaints regarding slow investigations have been addressed. Over 500 complaints related to police services and more than 200 complaints regarding departmental matters and others have been resolved. Similarly, over 160 complaints related to the arrest of criminals, 354 complaints related to recovery, and more than 159 complaints regarding poor investigations have been addressed, along with over 75 complaints regarding the cancellation of false cases and 40 complaints related to changes in investigations. Spokesperson for Punjab Police further said that through the 1787 Complaint Center, 18 missing persons have been recovered.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that complainants should feel free to contact the 1787 Complaint Center in case of any complaints against police officers. He further mentioned that complaints received from citizens are resolved within the designated time frame according to SOPs, and to enhance the effectiveness of the 1787 IG Police Complaint Center, its monitoring has been made more active. IG Punjab has directed all DPOs to personally monitor the resolution of complaints received through the 1787 Complaint System for their prompt resolution.
