ISLAMABAD: Islamabad’s district administration held a joint meeting with law enforcement officials, religious scholars, and trade representatives to review preparations ahead of Muharram and issue a code of conduct for the upcoming religious events.A meeting of the District Peace Committee was held in Islamabad to discuss arrangements for Muharram.Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon attended the session, which included officers from the city administration and law enforcement.Islamabad DIG Operations Muhammad Jawad Tariq represented the police, while senior superintendents, assistant commissioners, and the director of the Metropolitan Corporation were also present. Religious scholars from different schools of thought attended the meeting, along with representatives from trader associations.During the session, officials reviewed the overall security and administrative arrangements for Muharram.A comprehensive code of conduct was issued for processions and gatherings. Another set of guidelines was specifically prepared for mosques across the capital during the holy month.According to the administration, the code of conduct was developed after consultation with religious scholars to ensure peaceful observance of Muharram. DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq said that all security measures for the month had been finalized. He added that processions would be monitored through Safe City cameras.DC Irfan Nawaz Memon thanked all religious scholars and departments for attending and contributing to the planning process. He stated that the district administration and police would remain in constant contact with scholars around the clock.Memon further said that detailed consultations on procession routes and religious gatherings had been completed. He appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement during the religious observances.The DC assured that all suggestions made by religious leaders would be implemented in coordination with relevant authorities.
