LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday stated that the burden of population can become a huge threat to a country’s resources, emphasizing that Pakistan can accelerate the pace of development by combating climate change and increasing population.In her message on World Population Day, observed on Friday (July 11), she added, “Rapid increase in population growth rate has become the root cause of many economic and social problems.” The Punjab CM highlighted that the main reasons for poverty, child labor, poor healthcare, insufficient educational resources, and food scarcity are the uncontrolled increase of population.The Punjab Chief Minister said, “It is feared that the available resources will be enough to meet the country’s needs just for a few decades.” She underscored that before ensuring the provision of health and education facilities in different areas, the ratio of population to available resources should be kept in mind.”CM Strongly Condemns Attack by Fitna al-Hindustan TerroristsMeanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the martyrdom of innocent passengers while strongly condemning an attack by Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists on a bus coming from Quetta to Punjab.
