Islamabad  : To mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and to promote the spirit of peace and deepen cultural exchanges between China and Pakistan, China-Pakistan Children’s Painting Competition Exhibition titled “join hands to commemorate and paint peace together” opened on September 2, 2025, at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad. The exhibition is hosted by the China Cultural Center in Pakistan and organized by the Pakistan Association for Chinese Language Education. The opening ceremony was attended by Shi Yuanqiang, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, and Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, who both delivered speeches. Also present were Farukh Naz, Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Member of the National Assembly Shazia Sobia, along with more than 200 Chinese and Pakistani teachers, students, and representatives from different walks of life.In his remarks, Minister Khichi emphasized that the event aims to honor history and pay tribute to those who sacrificed for peace, freedom, and dignity. He praised the PNCA and the Chinese Embassy for jointly organizing the exhibition, and highlighted the unique approach of engaging children through art to foster themes of peace, friendship, and solidarity. He expressed hope that future generations will inherit a world built on cooperation and mutual respect, and wished the exhibition to inspire all participants to cherish peace and work together for a brighter future.Chargé d’Affaires Shi Yuanqiang highlighted the heroic history of the Chinese people’s War of Resistance against Japanese aggression in his speech. He noted that China and Pakistan once stood side by side against fascism and made important contributions to world peace. He stressed that today, the two countries must continue to stand united, safeguard the hard-won victory of World War II, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind. Through the children’s artwork, he said, the memory of sacrifice can be preserved, the message of peace carried forward, and the bond of friendship passed down, allowing the seeds of China-Pakistan friendship to take root in young hearts. He concluded with best wishes for everlasting China-Pakistan friendship and lasting world peace. The exhibition features 300 works, including paintings, calligraphy, paper-cutting, and AI-generated creations. It will run for five days in Islamabad before moving to the University of Punjab for a touring exhibition, further strengthening cultural ties and people-to-people connectivity between China and Pakistan.
