Lahore:Punjab Police’s Khidmat Marakiz (Service Centers) are actively engaged in providing digital services to citizens. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, more than 2.87 million citizens have availed policing services from these centers so far this year. The spokesperson further stated that 1,268,413 citizens obtained General Police Verification, while over 694,000 citizens received Police Character Certificates. Similarly, 321,563 citizens registered tenancy details, and 134,600 citizens obtained Medico-Legal Certificates. The spokesperson added that, under initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, over 107,000 individuals were provided with legal and social protection, while more than 36,000 citizens availed Vehicle Verification Services. Likewise, 72,480 citizens reported lost documents, 3,748 crime reports were registered, and over 160,000 citizens obtained copies of FIRs. In addition, 72 cases of violence against women were registered. Furthermore, 68,943 citizens registered employees under the ROPE (Registration of Private Employees) program, and 2,916 citizens underwent Police Verification for private employment. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, stated that Khidmat Marakiz is a remarkable flagship project for public service delivery, providing citizens with 24/7 facilities. He added that hundreds of thousands of citizens across the province, including Lahore, are benefiting monthly from these centers, and that services are continuously being upgraded based on citizens’ feedback.
