Lahore:Ajoka Institute, in collaboration with the Punjab Institute of Language, Art & Culture (PILAC), will stage “Marya Hoya Kutta” (The Dead Dog) — a compelling and socially charged play that exposes the stark realities of neglect and moral decay within society.This production marks the first public performance by the current batch of students from Ajoka Institute’s Art of Acting programme. The play will be performed on Friday, October 24, at 7:00 PM at the PILAC Auditorium, adjacent to Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.Written by Shahid Nadeem, Executive Director of Ajoka, the play embodies his signature fusion of social commentary and creative storytelling.“This debut performance is a proud milestone for our students, who are stepping into the world of theatre with a production that reflects Ajoka’s commitment to socially meaningful art,” said Nirvaan Nadeem, Director of Ajoka Institute. “Their dedication and authenticity breathe life into a story that challenges audiences to reflect and respond.”The evening will be graced by Mr. Ghulam Saghir Shahid, newly appointed Director General of PILAC, who will attend as the Chief Guest.Through this collaboration, Ajoka Institute and PILAC reaffirm their shared mission to nurture emerging theatre artists and promote socially relevant performing arts in Pakistan.
