Rawalpindi : Former ADCR Sialkot Iqbal Sanghera, arrested on charges of corruption, has escaped from the custody of Rawalpindi Police. It has been claimed that the Rawalpindi Police had brought the accused to Rawalpindi for appearance in a court case of the Anti-Corruption Police Station Rawalpindi, where after the appearance, while returning to Lahore, the accused’s brother took him from the police custody along with his associates and escaped. On the other hand, “Express” says that ASI Zafar Iqbal was in contact with the accused’s brother. According to the statement, the police officials searched for the accused on their own but did not immediately report the incident due to embarrassment at their failure.
