ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration have completed the digitization of land records in 24 mauzas of the federal capital, officials informed during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Monday.Held at the CDA Headquarters, the meeting reviewed ongoing digital reforms in land management, aimed at modernizing record-keeping, curbing manipulation, and ensuring greater transparency for citizens.Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, Director ICT Rabia Aurangzeb, and senior officials from CDA and ICT attended the meeting, while the Director General of the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) and his team joined via video link.Officials briefed the meeting that work on digitizing land records in the remaining 11 mauzas is progressing and will be completed soon. They added that all records of the CDA Estate Wing have now been scanned, while the scanning of Building Control Directorate files is ongoing. Once scanning is concluded, these records will undergo formal digitisation. To enhance public access, a mobile application has also been developed, through which citizens will be able to view and verify their land records.Officials said the initiative will help minimize disputes, restrict tampering, and significantly improve service delivery. The meeting also reviewed progress on the launch of e-stamp papers under the ICT–PLRA agreement.Officials reported that operational requirements for the rollout have largely been completed, with the software’s testing phase already underway. The e-stamp system has been integrated with OneLink, and non-judicial e-stamps will be introduced first, followed by judicial stamp papers.Randhawa said the digitization drive forms a key component of the federal government’s vision—led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi—for a “Digital Islamabad.”He said secure digital records and e-stamping mechanisms will safeguard citizens’ property and streamline transactions, including property transfers and inheritance cases. He added that all available resources are being utilized to ensure modern, transparent, and user-friendly services for residents.
