Islamabad:The Immigration Unit of the Federal Investigation Agency apprehended a passenger from boarding a flight at Islamabad International Airport on Sunday after he attempted to travel to Italy using his brother’s passport and resident card.According to a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) spokesperson, the passenger, identified as Muhammad Arslan, was travelling on flight TK751 and was found suspicious during immigration clearance.Further checks revealed he had presented the passport and residence card of his brother, Muhammad Imran. The passenger has been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad for further investigation and identification of the agent involved. The authorities advise citizens to always use legal channels for overseas travel, not to hand over personal documents, including passports, to unauthorised persons, and to contact the relevant country’s embassy or designated visa application centre for obtaining visas. In May 2025, the FIA detained seven passengers at Islamabad Airport attempting to travel to Italy using fake resident cards. The incident occurred during the briefing for flight J2144 bound for Baku, Azerbaijan.Six passengers from various parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Rawalpindi, along with their facilitator and travel agent, were detained.During searches, counterfeit Italian resident cards and Turkish visas were recovered from the passengers.
