IG Punjab Announces Cash Rewards of PKR 2.45 Million for Medalist Punjab Police Athletes at National Games

Lahore:A ceremony was held at the Central Police Office to distribute appreciation certificates and cash rewards among Punjab Police athletes who won medals at the 35th National Games 2025. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, awarded a total of PKR 2.45 million in cash prizes along with appreciation certificates to Punjab Police athletes who achieved outstanding success at the National Games. Congratulating the medal-winning police athletes, IG Punjab said that the department takes pride in players who bring honor to Punjab Police through excellent performances at national and international sports events. Punjab Police athletes delivered their best-ever performance at the 35th National Games held in Karachi. IG Punjab stated that under the current regime, a standardized uniform for Punjab Police athletes and the flag of the Pakistan Police Sports Board have been introduced. Medalist athletes are ambassadors of Punjab Police and should play their role in identifying talent and bringing it into Pakistan Police sports.Dr. Usman Anwar directed team managers to begin preparations for the next National Games immediately after meetings. He informed that gold medalists are being awarded PKR 300,000 each, silver medalists PKR 200,000 each, and bronze medalists PKR 100,000 each. IG Punjab further said that over the past three years, more than PKR 4.8 million in cash rewards have been distributed among police athletes and players, and the encouragement of medal-winning athletes through the Police Sports Board platform will continue in the future as well.Providing further details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that in the single category, silver medalists were awarded PKR 200,000 each and bronze medalists PKR 100,000 each along with appreciation certificates. Five members of the management committee were awarded PKR 50,000 each along with appreciation certificates. In the team category, bronze medalist players were awarded PKR 25,000 each along with appreciation certificates. Similarly, team managers and coaches were also awarded PKR 25,000 each along with appreciation certificates. The spokesperson further stated that at the 35th National Police Games, Pakistan Police athletes won a total of 40 medals across various events. Police athletes secured 3 gold, 2 silver, and 26 bronze medals in different competitions, while in exhibition sports they won 3 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
