ISLAMABAD,:Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar reviewed promotions of Head Constables to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) during a Departmental Promotion Committee meeting held at the Central Police Office.

An official told dateline on Thursday that the meeting was attended by AIG Establishment Shoaib Masood, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Hamzah Humayun, and other senior police officers.He said the committee reviewed the service records of Head Constables and forwarded recommendations for the promotion of officers with satisfactory and commendable records.He said that after formal approval, notifications would be issued promoting Head Constables to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI).DIG Zafar termed departmental promotion a fundamental right of every police officer.He said that all officers and personnel who had successfully completed the required departmental promotion courses would be promoted against vacant posts strictly on the basis of seniority.He added that the promotion process would continue until all vacant positions were filled to ensure fair career progression within the force.
