ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Health and MQM-P leader Syed Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday hailed Pakistan’s recent diplomatic success, describing it as a moment of pride and gratitude for the nation, while urging long-term institutional reforms to sustain the gains.Addressing the National Assembly, he said the achievement was the result of collective efforts by the country’s leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, the deputy prime minister, parliament, and all state institutions.He congratulated the entire nation, saying Pakistan had been honored globally due to effective teamwork and coordinated decision-making during a critical period.Kamal emphasized that the recent episode should be treated as a “case study,” noting that the world had witnessed a major crisis over the past several weeks and similar challenges could arise in the future.He stressed the importance of public trust in state institutions during crises, warning that misinformation and fragmented narratives based on limited knowledge could harm national interests. “This success was possible because the nation stood united and trusted the state and its leadership,” he said.Highlighting Pakistan’s growing international recognition, he said the country had achieved unprecedented global appreciation for its diplomatic role. However, he cautioned that sustaining this success required strengthening internal governance.
