ISLAMABAD:Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police enhanced security across the federal capital and conducted large-scale grand combing operations, detaining 37 suspects including two Afghan nationals, along with seven vehicles and 18 motorcycles during search operations.An official told dateline on Thursday that the operations were carried out in the jurisdictions of Korral, Sangjani, Shahzad Town, Margalla and Sabzi Mandi police stations under the supervision of zonal SPs.He said the lady police officials also participated in the operations to ensure effective checking.During the operations, a total of 570 individuals and 225 households were checked.The official said 53 shops and 14 hotels were also inspected during the search.He said 223 motorcycles and 91 vehicles were examined during the drive.The official said suspects were shifted to relevant police stations for further verification.He said individuals involved in illegal weapons possession were also arrested and one gun and one pistol along with ammunition were recovered.He said special checking points had been established at entry and exit routes of the city to ensure effective monitoring.All patrolling units and special squads were actively performing duties across the city, he added.The official urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and report any suspicious activity immediately.
