PESHAWAR, Oct 13 (NNI): The Election Commission of Pakistan has served notice on two KP ministers for violating the election code of conduct.
The notice has been issued to KP Education Minister Shahram Khan Tarkai and KP Sports & Information Technology Minister Muhammad Atif Khan
The commission sought an explanation on October 15. The District Monitoring Officer took notice of these ministers for participating in the campaign in NA-22 Mardan.
Participating in the campaign falls under violating the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission on August 5.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has finalized arrangements for the by-election scheduled on October 13 (Sunday) on three vacant National Assembly seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The election campaign will end on Friday. The candidates violating the ban will face action under Election Act 2017. The constituencies wherein by-elections are scheduled included NA-22 Mardan, NA-24 Charsadda and NA-31 Peshawar-V respectively.
The total number of voters in these constituencies is over 1450,000, out of which the number of men voters is over 8,50,000 while 6,42,000 are women voters. NNI
