According to a notification issued by the Home Department, the runway of the airport, Airport Security Force (ASF) Colony, parking area and the main terminal building along with the three-kilometer funnel around it, comprising boundaries of five Patwar circles, have been included in the limits of the Naseerabad police station of Rawalpindi. The Home Department has also sent letters in this regard to the commissioner and the regional, city police officer Rawalpindi and the district police officer of Attock as well as the inspector general of police Punjab. All these areas previously fell under the jurisdiction of New Airport Police Station, Attock. However, they will now remain under the jurisdiction of Naseerabad Police Station.

Malik Amin Aslam who is also Chairman of “Haqooq-e-Attock” a movement for the rights of natives of district Attock was of the view that various parts of the area which falls under the revenue limits of Fathejang district Attock including Murat (Mauza Ganda), Jangal (Mauza Jangal, Kak Chaudhry, Mian Rashida, Chak Phato), Thatti Gujran (Mauza Daulatpur), Kanyal (location Dhok Mian Accha Dikhli Kanyal and Mahlo (Mauza Mahlo, Raman)now included in Rawalpindi district. He lamented the fact that the people of these villages had sacrificed their agricultural lands for the construction of the new Islamabad airport and now they are being penalized for this sacrifice by stealing their identity and shifting them to a new district. “Unfortunately the public representatives who should be raising the concerns of the people in the assemblies are criminally silent on this injustice with district Attock”, he added. He further stated that the district is blessed with natural resources such as oil and gas and is also producing the cheapest electricity through the Ghazi Barotha hydro project but it is a sorry and sad state of affairs as the constitutional royalty of these resources is not being given to the people of Attock. He was of the view that he has already filed a petition for the redeessal of this injustice and the public interest case is being heard in the High court to secure the constitutional rights of Attock. He further stated that huge gold reserves has also been found in Attock along the River Indus banks but that is also being illegally mined and neither benefiting the country nor the people of the district. He vowed to keep on raising these issues of public interest of Attock and will continue his struggle inside the courts as well as outside on the political flora. This latest attack is stealing the identity of the people of Attock and is a travesty of justice for people who have always sacrificed for the national interest. He demanded that this administrative injustice should be immediately reversed.
