Lahore:An important video link meeting regarding CCD affairs was held at the Central Police Office under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. Additional IG CCD Sohail Zafar Chattha, DIG CCD Waqas ul Hassan, SSPs CCD, and senior officers were present in the meeting, while officers and personnel of the CCD from constable to inspector rank participated via video link. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar reviewed the proposed targets of the CCD for the elimination of organized crime during the meeting. Human resources, logistics, TORs, and administrative affairs of the Crime Control Department were also discussed. Additional IG CCD Sohail Zafar Chattha gave a briefing about the aims, objectives, and targets of the department.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that, in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, criminals involved in heinous crimes must be eradicated. Additional IG CCD said that CCD is confronting the challenges of serious crimes with a crime-fighting spirit. IG Punjab said that the required human resources, offices, transport, and logistics are being provided to CCD. The process of procurement for new transport, furniture, and logistics for the Crime Control Department has also been initiated. CCD is equipped with a criminals’ database, surveillance and monitoring systems, modern locators, and IT technology. CCD officers should demonstrate their full capabilities to achieve the set targets. IG Punjab instructed to ensure the arrest and sentencing of major drug dealers, dangerous criminals, elimination of no-go areas, and security of sensitive events. IG Punjab further said that terrorism, subversion, law and order, and crime eradication are the most significant challenges faced by Punjab Police.
