Lahore:Welfare initiatives for the Punjab Police force and their families, under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, continue without any interruption. Continuing this effort, more than Rs. 783 million have been spent on the welfare of the force during the current year.
Sharing details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that over Rs. 250 million have been disbursed in the form of educational scholarships for the children of police personnel. An amount of Rs. 219.9 million has been given as wedding gifts for the daughters of police employees. For medical assistance, more than Rs. 114.9 million have been spent.
Under subsistence allowance, more than Rs. 93.9 million have been provided to the families of police employees. Over Rs. 79.4 million have been issued as retirement grants. For funeral expenses, more than Rs. 17.5 million have been disbursed to the families of police personnel. Immediate financial assistance amounting to over Rs. 6.797 million has also been provided to the police force. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the challenges faced by the employees are being addressed through the Police Welfare Fund and the income generated from departmental welfare resources.
