RAWALPINDI: In an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted on Friday, security forces successfully targeted a high-profile terrorist in the Qilla Saifullah District of Balochistan. The operation was prompted by intelligence indicating the presence of a significant threat to national security.
Following an intense exchange of gunfire, the high value target (HVT), identified as Abdul Shakoor, also known as Nauman or Abu Hamza Khurasani, affiliated with Daesh, was neutralized. Shakoor was implicated in orchestrating recent bombings in Qila Saifullah and Pishin on 7 February 2024. He was a key figure sought by law enforcement agencies for his involvement in planning high-profile suicide attacks in Balochistan.
The timely and decisive action by security forces and intelligence agencies averted potential catastrophic attacks, safeguarding the lives and property of civilians. This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to counter terrorism and maintain peace, stability, and progress in Balochistan.
