LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Corporate Crime Circle Lahore, in a joint operation with the technical team of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), unearthed large-scale illegal use of gas during a raid in the inner-city area of Pani Wala Talab on Thursday.According to an FIA spokesperson, the raid led to the detection of illegal gas consumption in multiple houses, where two gas bypasses were recovered from around 40 residences. Initial findings revealed that the consumers had been using gas unlawfully for nearly 20 years.During the operation, a gold moulding workshop was also exposed where a domestic gas connection was being used for commercial purposes. The gas meter installed at the workshop was found tampered.Authorities removed the meter from the site and sent it to the laboratory for further examination.Further investigation is underway, the spokesperson added.
