RAWALPINDI : Five soldiers and a lieutenant colonel of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom on Saturday during intense exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in Spinwam area of North Waziristan. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Col Ali Shaukat and five personnel were martyred during firing exchange between Khawarij terrorists and security forces.  Six Khawarij terrorist also were killed during the operation. The operation led by Lt Col Shaukat took place on the night between Oct 4 and 5 resulted in the martyrdom of Lance Naik Muhammadullah, Lance Naik Yusaf Ali, Lance Naik Shahidullah, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman and Sepoy Jameel Ahmed. “Lt Col Muhammad Ali Shaukat was leading the operation against the khwarij when he and five soldiers were martyred as a result of intense exchange of fire,” said military’s media wing. “Security forces are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism. Sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our determination,” the statement added.
