Faisalabad ؔThe anti-corruption team raided the food department’s warehouse and caught wheat theft worth millions of rupees. The food department in-charge suspended the center in-charge and food inspector and formed a three-member inquiry committee. According to sources, the anti-corruption team had received information that the officers and employees of the department from Center No. 3 of the food department allegedly colluded to misappropriate hundreds of sacks of wheat purchased during the year 2023 and also altered official records. When the anti-corruption team raided, the sacks kept in the warehouse of Center No. 3 were found to be stolen. Sacks of wheat were stolen from among the piles of sacks, thus causing a loss worth crores of rupees to the government treasury. Director Anti-Corruption Khalid Kanwar said that an inquiry is being conducted and all the facts will be brought to light. On the other hand, Deputy Director Food Department Saifullah suspended Center In-charge Hamid Cheema and Food Inspector Faqir Muhammad and formed a three-member inquiry committee.
