Lahore:In view of the heightened situation at the borders, mock drills by Punjab Police are ongoing across the province, including Lahore. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, mock exercises are being conducted to prepare for any emergency situation. Teams from Punjab Police, Elite Force, Traffic Police, CTD, Special Branch, Rescue 1122, Bomb Disposal Squad, and other law enforcement agencies are participating in the drills. The purpose of these drills is to respond effectively to any unforeseen circumstances, prevent threats, safely rescue citizens, and further improve response time. Dr. Usman Anwar said that in light of the current border situation, mock drills will continue to ensure security, law and order, and relief operations. Search, sweep, and combing operations are also underway to hold terrorists and anti-state elements accountable.IG Punjab has also issued directives to enhance security across the province, including Lahore. He directed that in view of the prevailing national situation, Punjab Police is on high alert. Operational, strategic, and logistical preparations are complete. Full coordination is being maintained with district administrations, civil defence, Rescue 1122, and security agencies. In any emergency situation, Punjab Police will ensure security, law and order, and relief activities. Security has been increased at all key and sensitive locations, including inter-provincial border police check-posts.IG Punjab directed that strict vigilance be maintained on terrorists and miscreants to ensure the protection of internal borders. He affirmed that Punjab Police stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces and serves as a strong defensive wall against the enemy. Instructions have been issued to all RPOs, DPOs, and heads of formations as per the War Book.
