Lahore:A follow-up meeting was held at the Central Police Office under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. In the meeting, preparations for Elite Force players participating in national and international Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), snipers competitions, and other related matters were finalized. According to the Punjab Police Spokesperson, Elite Force’s trained players will represent Punjab Police in national and international special forces skills and shooting competitions in Dubai and Türkiye. Matters related to team selection, weapon handling, training, and logistics support were also finalized during the meeting.Commandant Elite Training School Khalid Suleman briefed that coordination with police authorities in Dubai and Türkiye has been completed for the participation of Punjab Police players in the events. Baseline assessment, physical evaluation, and tactical movement assessment have already been conducted for player selection. IG Punjab directed that all resources be utilized for the formation and training of the sports teams. He said that players participating in the Dubai and Türkiye competitions will be provided with advanced sniper rifles, ammunition, and top-level training.Commandant Elite Training School further shared that highly skilled snipers from the Elite Force have been selected for the international sniper competitions in Türkiye. IG Punjab emphasized that provision of modern sniper rifles, night sight vision devices, wind meters, and camouflage suits must be ensured. He directed that best police commandos and snipers be selected for the competitions, and modern weapons and skill-based training be guaranteed. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the professional standard and expertise of Punjab Police Special Forces are on par with the world’s advanced civil armed forces. He added that Punjab Police personnel equipped with modern training possess excellent capabilities in crime fighting, special operations, and sniper skills. He further said that Punjab Police will prove its exceptional abilities in international competitions related to civil armed forces. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Elite Police Force Dr. Muhammad Waqar Abbasi, Additional IG Training Punjab Tariq Rustam Chauhan, DIG Elite Police Force Faisal Ali Raja, Commandant Elite Police School Khalid Suleman, SSP Rana Umar Farooq, SP Monitoring Elite Police Force Agha Ramzan Ali, and SP Headquarters Elite Police Force Asad Rehman, along with other officers.
