ISLAMABAD – The former Inspector General of Police Islamabad Amir Zulfiqar Khan met with an accident on Islamabad-Lahore Motorway (M-2) near Pindi Bhattian.The Public Relations Officer of the National Highway and Motorway Police has confirmed that the accident happened on the motorway but the former IG remained safe, who was rescued by the motorway police.However, he informed that the vehicle of Amir Zulfiqar was badly destroyed, which was later removed from the location.According to details, former IGP Amir Zulfiqar was in a black Haval Jeep (BED-181) that collied with a stray dog at slip road joining from M4 to M2.A NHMP patrolling mobile arrived promptly at the scene and after securing the situation a recovery operation was initiated.A standby vehicle was arranged to safely evacuate the former IGP to Islamabad. The impacted vehicle was also recovered and is being transported to Islamabad.
