Punjab Police on High Alert in Flood Situation and actively engaged in relief activities

Lahore:Following the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police remained on high alert in the flood-affected situation and is actively engaged in relief activities. Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that comprehensive efforts are underway to ensure the evacuation of citizens from flood-affected areas and all available resources are being utilized for the protection of the people. In view of the flood situation in the rivers Chenab, Sutlej, and Ravi, Punjab Police is on high alert and diligently performing its duties. Evacuation of citizens from the flood-affected riverbanks and areas, including Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Nankana, is being ensured. Safe relocation of citizens to secure locations and provision of facilities in relief camps is being guaranteed. Punjab Police is providing full cooperation alongside other departments in delivering food, clean drinking water, and medicines to citizens. Continuous coordination is maintained with PDMA, district administrations, rescue, and security agencies.IG Punjab directed RPOs, DPOs, and supervisory officers to personally monitor rescue and relief activities in flood-affected areas. Regular patrolling of police relief teams must continue in villages and settlements along riverbanks. Measures for relief camps, aid, and security of affected individuals in flood-impacted districts should be ensured. Under the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, protection of lives and properties of the public is the top priority. Citizens are advised to take precautionary measures in this extraordinary situation and cooperate with the police. On the Instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, DPO Kasur Muhammad Esa Khan, along with Deputy Commissioner Imran Ali, is present in the field assisting flood victims. Under the leadership of the DPO and Deputy Commissioner Kasur, police and district administration are conducting relief activities for the flood-affected areas along the river Sutlej.DPO and Deputy Commissioner visited several flood-affected villages including Chanda singh, Bhikhi Wind, and Kamal Pura by boat. DPO Kasur reviewed the evacuation and relocation of victims to safe places. During rescue operations, police transferred children, elderly citizens, and women to secure locations. Police personnel also moved livestock worth millions of rupees to safe areas in the affected villages. Announcements were made by police, and officers assisted the victims by carrying their belongings on their heads. DPO Kasur said that under the guidance of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the police are tirelessly working day and night for the protection and service of flood victims.
