Lahore:An important meeting of the Pakistan, Police Sports Board was held at the Central Police Office under the chairmanship of President Pakistan Police Sports Board / Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, in which detailed review was conducted regarding measures related to the performance, fitness, training, welfare, and medical facilities of police athletes and players. Various proposals were presented in the meeting for the reorganization of the Pakistan Police Sports Board and further improvement in the performance of police athletes. Chief Sports Officer / RPO Sheikhupura Athar Ismail Amjad gave a detailed briefing on the objectives, targets, and challenges faced by the Pakistan Police Sports Board.Chief Sports Officer said that the Pakistan Police Sports Board is rendering important services for the promotion of sports activities among provincial police organizations, while police players have achieved notable successes in national and international sports events. It was further informed that through inter-regions, inter-district, and inter-units sports events, improvements have been made in the fitness and performance of players.Chief Sports Officer informed that a cash award of Rs. 300,000 is being given to gold medal winners, Rs. 200,000 for silver medal, and Rs. 100,000 for bronze medal winners. In the 35th National Games held in Karachi, police players collectively won 32 medals.IG Punjab Abdul Kareem directed that the selection of more talented players be ensured through talent hunt and strategic development programs. He said that new players and athletes with exceptional skills in various sports should be included in teams, and sports mentors should take further measures to enhance the performance of players.He further directed that the participation of police athletes in national and international sports events be ensured. The meeting was attended by Additional IG IAB Imran Mehmood, Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, Chief Sports Officer / RPO Sheikhupura Athar Ismael Amjad, and other officers.
