LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Monday paid rich tribute to the police personnel who embraced martyrdom during the Rajanpur Katcha Operation, marking the 10th anniversary of their supreme sacrifice.In his message, the IGP said that the brave sons who laid down their lives in the line of duty were the pride of the nation and their sacrifices would always be remembered. He said that Punjab Police saluted its martyrs and their families, adding that all possible measures would continue to be taken for their welfare and well-being.He further stated that the great sacrifices of the martyrs served as a guiding light for the police department and their memory would always remain alive.According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, on this day in 2016, six police officers and personnel embraced martyrdom during an encounter with the Chotu Gang in the Rajanpur Katcha Operation. The martyrs included Sub-Inspector Muhammad Hanif, Head Constable Muhammad Ajmal, and Constables Ubaidullah Faheem, Muhammad Tariq, Amanullah and Muhammad Shakeel, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
